HOUSE OF MERCY is run by West Africa Mercy Ministries-Ghana [WAMM-Ghana]; a Ghanaian registered nonprofit organization established in 2013 under the Companies Code, Act 179 (1963) as private company limited by guarantee and an affiliate of West Africa Mercy Ministries-USA.
HOUSE OF MERCY provides shelter for abandoned children; from newborn to eight year olds; which cases are mostly referred from Government Hospitals through DOVVSU of the Ghana Police Service and the Department of Social Welfare.
Vision:
To provide children; especially the abandoned with a home where their basic needs are met, offering them proper environment for healthy development of their character.
Objectives
⦁ Provide shelter for children from anywhere; orphans, abandoned, or victims of abuse or domestic violence, without considering sex, race, colour, origin, age, physical conditions and/or religion. Currently our maximum capacity is fifteen (15) children.
⦁ Provide a home environment capable of responding to the urgent human priorities of children with disabilities (PWDs)/children with special needs such as autistic children, those with hydrocephalus condition, cerebral palsy, HIV, and others assuring them of a secured place where all their basic needs are satisfied.
⦁ Prioritise their educational and health needs to enable them achieve and reach their maximum potential in life.
⦁ Facilitate the restoration of their individual, familial and social values through best practices such as adoption, foster parenting, family coexistence and participation in safe and healthy community activities.
⦁ Increase public awareness at different community forums, covering topics related to disadvantaged and vulnerable children and their wellbeing.
